The SODA Team

Sam Billingham - Founder & Director

I am a survivor of physical and psychological abuse. I found the strength to leave my relationship in November 2006 when my ex partner split my lip open whilst I was holding our 10 month old daughter. My "support" was actually an 8 week awareness course of what I had already suffered and after those 8 weeks, basically, that was it.In April 2009 I set up a Facebook support page and started offering online help, through Facebook and emails. I'm a single parent and currently not working. My mum passed away on 14th December 2015 and one of the things she told me, was to never give up with SODA - Survivors of Domestic Abuse.

Dee Kelly - SODA Patron

SODA was first brought to Dee's attention by Sam on twitter and she was moved by the huge amount of voluntary work that Sam had put into providing support and guidance for Survivors of Domestic Abuse. Although Dee is most well known for her involvement with Benefit Street and Celebrity Big Brother, she has long been a voice for the underdog and is passionate about providing support and guidance to others. Dee will help SODA raise awareness of Domestic Abuse and play a key role in a variety of projects and campaigns in the future.

Amanda Redman MBE - Ambassador

SODA is delighted to have well known actress Amanda Redman (MBE) as our Ambassador and are thankful for the support and awareness she is able to bring us. Amanda, who most recently starred in ITV drama, 'The Trials of Jimmy Rose' is passionate about helping Surviviors of Domestic Abuse and helping more people recognise the signs of coercive control and both the physical and mental abuse suffered by both men and women in domestically abusive relationships.
